DJCT College Info Night on Sept. 9

High school-aged parents and players invited to attend informational meeting on playing college soccer

On Tue., Sep 9 at 7:00pm Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas will hold its annual College Info Night at the Bee Cave Community Room, which is located at: 4000 Galleria Pkwy; Bee Cave, TX 78738.  This event is intended to be a working session to instruct parents and players about how the college recruiting process works and how to get coaches to recruit you.  Topics covered will include:

·         What is College Soccer Like?

·         Major Points About Searching for a College

·         Different Levels of College Soccer (NCAA Di, DII, DIII, NAIA, etc…)

·         Scholarships

·         NCAA Rules

·         Freshman Eligibility

·         How to Market Yourself to College Coaches

·         What DJCT Will Do For You

·         How to be Seen by Coaches

·         What You Need to Do

The agenda for the night is as follows:

7:00 – 8:15           College Info Night Presentation and Q&A

8:30 – 9:30           98 Boys and 99 Girls Working Session

ALL high school age players (and hopefully a parent) that have not attended the fall College Info Night in the past are required to attend the 7:00 to 8:15 session.  That is the basis for how we approach the recruiting process as a club.  Note that this is not the same as the spring College Coaches Night.

The 8:30 session is for ALL players on our DJCT 99 girls team and 98 boys teams who are interested in playing college soccer (and hopefully a parent).

Mike Smith is our Director of College Exposure and spent 17 years as the head men’s soccer coach and 9 years as the head women’s soccer coach at St. Edward’s University.  He will be conducting both sessions.  The DJCT 95 boys placed all nine seniors who wanted to play college soccer into varsity college soccer programs last year.
