Former Manchester United and Portland Timbers player to work with Elite Camp June 27-July 1, 2016
Eddie Johnson, the current Scottish Premiership Under-20's manager for Dundee FC, is traveling to Austin to head the coaching staff for the 3rd Annual DJCT-Dundee FC Camp, at Regents School of Austin. Dundee FC, the Scottish professional club founded in 1893, who play in the top-flight of Scottish football, are an official affiliate of DJCT, bringing very unique opportunities for Dynamo Jrs' players.
A former Manchester United, Portland Timbers and England international during his playing career, Eddie will be working with the Elite side of the camp that runs from for those select players Under-11 to Under-18.
Eddie played internationally for England's Under-16's, Under-18's and Under-20's from 2001 to 2003. Eddie played in all three of England's games at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championships in the United Arab Emirates. On October 28, 2003, Johnson made his first-team debut for Manchester United against Leeds United when he came on as substitute in a 3-2 League Cup victory at Elland Road, playing alongside such notable Man U players as Gary Nevile, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and Diego Forlan and being managed by the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
After stops at Bradford City and Chester City in England, Johnson finished out his playing career in the U.S. where he played for the Portland Timbers in MLS during the 2011 season, coming on a substitute in the Timbers' first MLS home game on April 15, 2011. Johnson has been on the Dundee FC coaching staff since July 2014.
