Capital City Soccer Club affiliated with Dundee FC
Exciting changes at DJCT this summer.
Dundee FC is happy to announce the hiring of Patrick Miller as the Club’s new Director of Coaching and a big congratulations to outgoing DJCT Director of Coaching Matteo Curioni as he will be moving to Scotland to take up a coaching role in the Dundee Football Club Academy.
Patrick comes into the position with 10+ years of coaching at the club level as well as a year spent at the University of Houston-Victoria where he served as the Graduate Assistant Coach to both the Men’s and Women’s teams in 2010-11.
The past five years, Patrick has been working as the south Austin Regional Coordinator for Liverpool FCIA. Patrick began the south Austin branch of the club with just one team and 10 kids and under his guidance the club grew close to 300 players and 25 teams in total across the Academy and Select levels. The quick and organic growth the club experienced was impressive but even more notable was the levels of play his teams reached, including SCL, Frontier and USC Champions League.
Patrick joins Dundee FC with a commitment to developing technical players and creating a positive club environment that allows players to improve and grow on and off the field. He is forward thinking in his outlook for the program and we are very confident in the future of the club under his guidance and leadership.
We are also excited to share in his vision and announce that we will be adopting a more local identity as we have decided to rebrand our club. We will continue to hold a close partnership and affiliation with Dundee FC, but for the 2019-20 season and beyond, we will now be recognized as Capital City Soccer Club. We will maintain our presence in west Austin with St. Gabriel’s continuing to be our home training ground but we will also extend our footprint into the south and southwest Austin area.
Austin soccer is going through some incredible changes and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. Capital City Soccer Club was originally created by Patrick as a Semi-Pro Indoor Soccer team that currently competes in the PASL (Premier Arena Soccer League). The club also has plans for Capital City SC to be a member of the UPSL in the upcoming 2019-20 season. Capital City SC’s presence at the Semi-Pro level will offer a number of benefits and pathways for both our players and coaches and we are proud that we will be able to extend our club’s reach with these additions beyond the youth level.
Patrick’s vision for improving Austin soccer across the board is also evident in that he recently accepted a position on Austin FC’s Leadership Council for Community Benefits. He has embraced a positive relationship with the incoming MLS and DA program and believes Capital City will quickly be known as a club with the ability to develop DA level players.
Please join us in welcoming Patrick Miller to the club as we are excited to bring him and the Capital City SC rebrand to life.
All the best,
Dundee Football Club
