DJCT has named John Clee-Charlton the new Director of the South (Dripping Springs area) location of Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas (DJCT). John, who is also serving as the Director of Goalkeeping for the club, will oversee all the DJCT teams based out of the Dripping Springs location and will look to help grow the Dynamo program in conjunction with the Dripping Springs Youth Soccer Association (DSYSA).
John is very familiar with the location and the Dripping Springs Youth Soccer board, having previously coached at Dripping Springs for over 5 years in the early 2000's. John was a director and staff coach for the Dripping Springs Stars select program before DJCT began to serve as the select side for DSYSA in 2011.
"John and I go back a long time when I was the DOC of Lake Travis Select in 2003 and John was coaching with the Stars program" said DJCT DOC, Tim Chestney. "We coached against one another for a number of seasons and I always respected the way he approached the games and how he taught his players. We both know what the Dripping Springs area brings in terms of soccer-minded families and the potential growth for both DSYSA and DJCT going forward. I feel John is perfectly suited to help us continue to grow soccer is this area."
"We are very excited to have John back in the Dripping Springs community," stated Alan Barrington, the Dripping Springs Youth Soccer Association President. "His experience and passion for the game will be a great asset to our players and parents alike. Having a dedicated Director in the South will help bring our recreational program closer to Dynamo Juniors, and will allow us to provide the best soccer instruction possible to our children."
John will be a presence at DJCT trainings and games at Dripping Spring and will be helping with coaching education for the DSYSA recreational coaches and players, along with communicating directly with the DSYSA board.
DJCT, which is one of five official youth-affiliates of the MLS Houston Dynamo that are located in Texas, Louisiana and Mexico, has over 500 kids playing Under-8 to Under-18 competitive soccer at four locations serving the greater Austin-area; Center of Excellence (Regents School of Austin - highest level of DJCT teams), West (Bee Cave/Lakeway area), Riverplace (Four Points area) and South (Dripping Springs area).
